Sony Ericsson today announced the launch of its first made in India mobile phone, the R300 Radio phone. R300 is targeted at the rapidly growing entry level segment. This new handset comes with a radio-inspired design with volume boosters for clarity of sound in noisy environment.
Along with the FM frequency channels, Sony Ericsson R300 also comes with AM frequencies. Available in two colors - Antique Copper and Steel Black, the R300 Radio will be available at a price of Rs. 4,395.
“We are witnessing unprecedented growth in smaller towns and cities and plan to increase our geographic presence in such places with launch of the Radio phone R300. The growing popularity of the radio in the tier two and tier three cities has created a tremendous opportunity for penetrating such markets and we are confident that our new offering will be well received by our consumers” said Sudhin Mathur, General Manager, Sony Ericsson Mobile Communications, India.
Other features include radio speakers, 3D sound enhancement, alarm clock, recording facility, play back option and built-in VGA camera. The R300 Radio is a GSM/GPRS 900/1800/1900 phone.
